Creative Ways to Decorate a Floral Bedroom

Floral Bedroom Decor image

A bedroom embellished with floral accents is lovely and welcoming – if it is well-decorated and not overdone. Instead of covering every surface with blooms, use the following creative ways to decorate a floral bedroom. Less is more when decorating in any theme or subject, and these easy ideas will help you achieve results as stylish and impressive as those in home d├ęcor magazines.

Decorate the Walls with Paint in a Light Flowery Hue

When looking for creative ways to decorate a floral bedroom, begin with the walls. Paint the walls in a light floral or foliage hue such as very light leaf green or soft forget-me-not blue. In a floral bedroom, blues and other hues not usually paired with green can be used with success. After all, flowers have green leaves and stems, and in nature, blooms and foliage never clash.

Decorate a Focal Wall with Flower Patterned Designs

Decorate a floral bedroom with a unique focal wall covered in beautiful stamped blooms. Use the same paint color used on the walls but two or three shades darker. Use faux blooms as stamps to create floral silhouettes using both the base coat and the darker shade of paint. While wearing thin gloves typically used for medical purposes, lightly apply the paint to the fabric blooms using a damp sponge.

If desired, once the paint dries, decorate the centers with iridescent yellow craft paint to add a little natural color and glitz. Small details can be added with acrylic craft paint and a brush after the stamped designs dry. Practice on scrap paper first to achieve desirable results before attempting to decorate bedroom walls using any new painting technique.

Use Floral Throw Pillows to Decorate a Bed with Solid Bedding

The bed is one of the most expansive surfaces in the bedroom, third to the flooring and walls, and it should not be too busy. This is especially true when a bedroom wall is patterned.

When striving to decorate a floral bedroom in an impressive new way, choose a solid bedspread and bed skirt, and decorate the bed with floral patterned throw pillows. The pillows will add floral beauty to the design of the bedroom without making it appear confusing to the eyes and overdone with mismatched patterns and mixtures of colors.

Use a vase of well-arranged faux or real flowers along with the aforementioned methods to decorate a floral bedroom. The bedroom will appear relaxing and welcoming. When not overdone with random blooms, the bedroom will become one of the most comfortable rooms in the home.
