Outdoor Cabanas Bring Relaxation to Any Outdoor Experience

Outdoor CabanasCabanas provide excellent opportunities to spend quality time outdoor. Cabanas are built with a wide range of materials and in different sizes and shapes. But most cabanas are built with wood such as cedar, fir, redwood, and pressure treated lumber. There are many types of cabanas and you can always opt for the one that meets your tastes and needs.

Guesthouse type: The guesthouse style cabanas resemble a standard home with all conceivable amenities. Most guesthouse style cabana have living space, a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and even a bar area. Some of the things you will need for a perfect guesthouse style cabana are – flooring tiles, kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, electrical fittings, doors, windows etc. The guesthouse style cabanas are invariably custom-built usually with professional assistance from an architect and/or building contractor.

Tent type: The tent style cabanas are the most rampantly found style of cabana. This design style is simple and can be constructed with minimum tools and without any professional expertise. The tent style cabana includes just a roof and four supporting posts. You must make sure that the floor space is adequate for the occupants and also remains proportional to the overall size of your outdoor/swimming pool. As the cabana is of an open type, you can have a view of the pool and also enjoy circulating air and shade from the sun – though privacy may not be there.

Prefabricated cabanas: If you have neither the time nor the inclination, you might as well buy a ready-made prefabricated cabana and have it quickly erected Prefabricated cabanas, as the name suggests, are ready-made cabanas and all you have to do is buy and install them in any outdoor space of your choice – preferably the poolside. These cabanas usually comprise of a single room measuring not more than 300 square feet. They come in a variety of designs and offers storage options in addition to living space. You can add shelves as also benches and dividers.

Specialty Cabanas: These are some exotic styles of cabanas and are mostly pentagonal or hexagonal in shape having quaint Gothic style windows, church type ceilings, cedar shake roofs, batten and board siding and a functioning redwood copper-topped cupola.
Japanese tea house: The Japanese tea house is yet another style of specialty cabana. These cabanas are painstakingly designed to work as small artist studios — offering natural light and can also be built at poolside spaces.

Whatever the style of cabanas, make sure to use water-resistant materials such as heavy-duty carpeting or rubber flooring to make the floor less slippery. Utilize the services of a professional electrician if you plan having electricity or gas connection inside your cabana to ensure safety. Also, make sure to use only flame-resistant material if you intend to have any heating elements inside. Please check with your local authorities for any license or code requirements.

An outdoor cabana can enhance the aesthetics of your exteriors and turn out to be a veritable paradise and an exciting entertainment center to spend your leisure hours – provided you choose the right type of cabana to meet your family’s needs.
